This two-hour presentation is meant to contextualize the role of the most common trusts used for estate planning, with a focus on Children's Trusts, Revocable Living Trusts, Credit Shelter Trusts, Special Needs Trusts, IRA Beneficiary ('see-through') Trusts and other tax-planning trusts. The presentation is designed to contextualize each type of trust by providing the role of the trust, the tax consequences of the trust, and practice tips for the drafting and funding the trust.



  • Eric Reutter
    is an Eastside native from Bellevue and attended the University of Washington where he received his Bachelor’s Degree, Juris Doctor, and Master’s Degree in Tax Law (LL.M.). Eric focuses his practice on estate planning, real estate, business law, and tax. He adopts a "client-centered" approach of educating the clients on the law in order to allow them to choose the best path forward. In this spirit of legal education, Eric has published a wide variety of blogs and legal articles in publications. His articles have been featured in publications including the King County Bar Bulletin, Washington State Bar Association RPPT Newsletter, 425 Business Magazine, and Puget Sound Business Journal.
